FUEL CELL
THERMAL MANAGEMENT

Using our expertise in heat transfer, we are exploring new technologies to improve the thermal management and cooling of PEM fuel cells.

FUEL CELL HEAT RECOVERY

LJUNGSTRӦM are engaged in a cooperation with a leading German university on a project funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts (MWK) to develop technology to improve the efficiency of Polymer Electrolyte Membrane/Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cells.

These fuel cells use bipolar plates (BP) as a key component, with multifunctional characteristics to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the fuel cell. Being a leader in the design and high accuracy manufacture of high efficiency heat transfer solutions, LJUNGSTRӦM has partnered with leading academic experts in the field to develop improved ways to provide efficient cooling and use of waste heat in PEM fuel cells.

While the project is in the early stages, technologies like these could revolutionize the cooling of PEM fuel cells, providing improved efficiency and space-saving designs.
