Power Generation
Both electric power generating and co-generating plants that produce power and steam use our complete range of LJUNGSTRӦM technologies. Our Ljungström® air preheaters and gas-gas heater products are a critical part of the combustion and air quality control systems used at these plants, and our newest technologies can remove SO3 and provide plants with significant ways to improve the emissions and operations.
Process Industries
Ljungström® air preheaters play a critical role in improving thermal efficiency across a wide range of industrial applications. By capturing and reusing waste heat, these systems support more sustainable operations, whether it’s enhancing steam production, boosting energy output, or optimizing processes like material drying.
Hydrocarbon Processing
Having supplied more than 1500 air preheaters to the hydrocarbon processing industry since the earliest days of the invention of the Ljungström® air preheater, petrochemical plants, petroleum refineries, and many chemical processes use our smaller sized bi-sector air preheater equipment for heat recovery on a wide range of process heaters and furnace configurations where the heat recovery is vital to the process efficiency and plant revenue.
Carbon Capture
The carbon capture industry is expanding proven processes and developing groundbreaking new technologies for the capture of CO2 from industrial point sources. LJUNGSTRӦM has been involved in this industry for over 5 years in the development of rotary adsorber machines, and applying our heat recovery and acid gas removal technologies to improve the efficiency, economics and emissions of solvent based capture systems.
Iron, Steel, and Aluminium
Our heat recovery and emissions reduction technologies play a key role in steel making, with proven experience on various applications from coke oven batteries to blast furnace air preheaters. Auxiliary steam boilers use smaller Ljungström® air preheaters, while captive power generation plants use our larger units necessary to support the larger power boilers.
Our gas-gas heater products are a critical part of the air quality control system used at these plants to remove SOx and NOx on both wet FGD and tail end SCR scrubbers, and and our newest technologies can remove SO3 and provide operators with significant ways to improve the plant emissions and operations.
Offshore Wind
The growing importance of offshore wind as part of the renewable energy mix requires development of equipment and manufacturing technologies to support the drive to better utilize offshore resources. LJUNGSTRӦM is a provider of key fabricated secondary steel components with the ability to transition raw materials into large assemblies to support the growing size of offshore wind turbines.
